Jesus and His apostles never performed a miracle that was slow. In fact, they never performed a miracle that was even gradual or progressive , and they never performed a miracle that was one scintilla less than completely permanent. On the other hand, present day miracles are partial, gradual, temporary, and not visibly verifiable.

In fact, the so-called miracles done by most modern healers or self-proclaimed prophets are not really miracles at all. These men and women are not stopping the sun, walking on water, turning water into wine, raising the dead, restoring a limb, or even instantly healing an incurable disease. At those times when a healing is proclaimed to have taken place, it involved the faith of the recipient, without any supernatural manifestation of power and therefore is not a miracle.

I have experienced some strange occurrences over the decades. One really stands out. The year was 1978. I had only been born again about a year and yes, I was rather quirky. I met a stranger during my work as a secular counselor/therapist who filled out the usual forms. I noticed on the form that this young woman wrote down that she had an advanced diagnosis of cancer of the cervix.

Without this new client being on my mind, I awoke the very morning the day after meeting her with this strange sort of “quickening.” The only way I can explain it is that my mind was blanketed with one thought, as if “on pause.” FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES, I COULD ONLY THINK ONE THOUGHT. This thought was EMBRACED BY MY complete faith, without a doubt able to penetrate my mind. The thought was that this new client would be healed of cancer THAT VERY DAY!!!

I was expecting that this CLIENT would come to my group WHERE I WOULD LAY HANDS UPON HER AND SHE WOULD BE IMMEDIATELY HEALED.

BUT IT DID NOT GO THAT WAY!

Later that same day, the client called to inform me that because she was being examined that day at the hospital, that she was unable to attend my group. It was then that I discussed with her what happened to me that morning. It was a bit unorthodox for a secular counselor to do. Nevertheless, I did so by phone so I can only imagine the shock that was on her face. Even though I was disappointed, I thought to myself “Pam, you are buggin out! So chill, Gurl!!!!

Soon after, either the next day or a few days later, I was sitting at my desk when this client FOR COUNSELING walked into my office. She was beaming with joy. She handed me a piece of paper which came from the hospital. It read “cancer of the cervix, NEGATIVE!!!! THE CANCER WAS COMPLETELY GONE.

SO WHAT HAPPENED HERE???!!!!

It was a miracle.

God simply put a thought of what He was about to do for her into my mind. When I had that experience, He either healed her at that very moment when I woke, or the healing could have occurred before she met me—-somewhere between her last exam where she was at an advanced stage of cancer and her next exam and He simply told ME about it. This was a routine exam, and the report I was shown found no evidence of womb cancer, at all.

It turns out that this was my last week at the job. So I have no proof that her condition was permanent. In the year 1979, I was shown more than one miracle. In one case, I spoke to a storm and sun broke out over my house, while every other block was wet. I did not even have to remove my laundry from the outdoor line.

LOL. Now that is yet another story!!!!!
