Bible Prophecy: Seducing Spirits, Doctrines of Devils=”The Great Falling Away”

By Pam Sheppard

Like the rest of the institutional church, I used to believe that the great falling away would be made manifest when people left the church in droves as they began to deny the Lord. I understand that people are leaving the church in significant numbers in a rather quiet, un-noticeable way. Even so, most of these people have left because they wanted a deeper walk with Christ than the church is equipped to provide. Then there are those who are  leaving  because they were either offended or rejected.

I could be wrong, but I view this end time departure from the faith in a more subtle, symbolic way.  In other words,  a literal removing of one’s name from the rolls, jumping up from the pews and exiting the building, may not necessarily occur within an end-time departure.  I sense that the journey away from the faith could be an inward  alienation from the Lord as the fruit of having internalized false doctrines and practices.  Here is the prophetic scripture:

King James Version:  1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils,

Amplified Version: But the [Holy] Spirit distinctly and expressly declares that in latter times some will turn away from the faith, giving attention to deluding and seducing spirits and doctrines that demons teach,

As I interpret this scripture, the first thing I note is that this scripture is not the Apostle’s opinion.  Paul  makes it clear to Timothy that this is a prophecy directly from the Holy Spirit.  Then I note that it is  to occur “in latter times.”   Clearly, the Holy Spirit revealed this prophecy through the Apostle Paul in order to warn an end-time generation  that in their time, some shall depart from the faith because they heeded false doctrines which they did not know came from seducing spirits aka religious demons.

I KNOW from information and personal experience  that multitudes who either attend church, and also others  who profess Christ not in a building are  already among the fallen away because they believe they have ACCEPTED Jesus and are therefore born again, when in truth, they have had a false conversion. THERE IS NO GREATER NUMBER OF FALLEN AWAY PEOPLE THAN THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY HEEDED primarily two  false doctrines: Easy believism and the prayer language teaching, aka tongues.

Irrefutable conclusions  that  can actually  be proven  in a scientific way are not readily available , nor do I have the resources to conduct a full blown research study.  Nevertheless,  my own  personal proof is predominately experiential  over a 40 year period of Christian case studies and numerous pastoral contacts. Here is the first example that caused me to open my eyes and  pay close  attention. A sincere young woman reported that she was watching a TV evangelist.  At the end of the show, he or she asked the TV audience to repeat a sinner’s prayer. Facing the TV, she did so. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY, SHE WAS DEMONIZED WITH TORMENT that continued for a year, until I was contacted and engaged to help on the matter.

Now granted, everyone who says a sinner’s prayer does not become immediately tormented or obviously demonized, even over time. Yet “something” DOES happen on the spiritual, unseen side. In this regard, I need to remind the reader of the location of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He  does not come into people’s hearts LITERALLY. HE IS LITERALLY AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER, ABOUT TO RETURN TO EARTH, LITERALLY. So He is with His people  FIGURATIVELY OR SYMBOLICALLY.

Consider the Holy communion.  Catholics believe that when you partake of the elements, that you are ACTUALLY drinking the Lord’s blood and ACTUALLY eating His Body.  Not so.  The Lord said Himself that He had to leave earth so that the Holy Spirit could come.  THE HOLY SPIRIT ENTERS OUR SPIRITS LITERALLY WHEN WE ARE BORN AGAIN.

I suspect that what actually happens as a result of repeating a sinner’s prayer is that AN INVITATION TO THE FAKE JESUS IS MADE. Jesus Sananda Immanuel himself cannot enter the hearts of so many. He is merely a fallen angel and can only be in one place at a time, as he is neither omniscient, omnipotent or omni-present.  Instead, Sananda rules  an army of religious evil spirits who under his authority and at his command accept each invitation and come into a heart. The spiritual heart is a part of the soul. So a religious demon enters the soul and lives there, often un-noticed.

King James: 21 “Not every one that saith unto Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that doeth the will of My Father who is in Heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that Day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name, and in Thy name have cast out devils, and in Thy name done many wonderful works?’
23 And then will I profess unto them, ‘I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.’
24 “Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock.

Amplified: Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name?
23 And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].
24 So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a [sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock.

It is best that the evil spirit be noticed by the torment that they inflict upon their targets.  Otherwise, those who have departed from the faith, having given heed to these seducing spirits and the doctrines they teach, will remain ignorant and will not find out about this deception, until the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth looks them in the face upon their death and declares, “I never knew YOU!”
